Grove Guild - 1st Anniversary Event!

Our August 25th event marked the first anniversary of The Grove Guild— the overall feeling from all in attendance was the joy of accomplishment! We gathered at the United Church after spending our summer events on site at The Grove Theatre.

Celebrations kicked off with a group photo, then we dove into an organized trivia game, followed by charcuterie, cake, and cupcakes. Sparked by all the chairs being moved around to promote plenty of socializing.

We hosted approximately 30 members, and Stacey and Tim were with us to celebrate the milestone.

Our selected trivia questions required just one- or two-word answers related to theatre lingo and terms we’d heard during Guild Conversations over the course of the year. Knowing the answers to the twenty-five questions required members to have either reviewed the monthly blog posts on The Guild website or viewed Pj’s cheat-sheet posted on the wall. The goal was to have fun while we brushed up on theatre definitions, not to stump anyone.

Congrats to our winners: Susan Bean (Foundation Membership), Bonnie Sue (T-shirt) and Jim Terry (Grove Theatre Mug).

After singing Happy Birthday, blowing out the candle, and cutting the cake, we engaged in a social activity to get better acquainted. The mission was to mix with Guild members we didn’t know.

So, there you have it: our first year of Grove Guild education, engagement, and entertainment is behind us. Thank you to all our Guild Members for your continued support, we could not have realized our vision of going deeper - behind the curtain, beyond the performance, and into the heart and soul of live theatre - without you all. We are looking forward to another year of programming!
